LESLIE TORBURN, DPT
Leslie is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a broad range of clinical and research experience spanning over 30 years. She is a published author in numerous scientific publications. For the past 15 years, her work has focused on workers compensation.
Her expertise covers both preventive and post-injury ergonomic worksite assessments for a variety of employers. Her past work performing utilization review and return-to-work services for State Compensation Insurance Fund of California provides her with a broad perspective of the importance of work place health.
Leslie is a recognized expert in motion analysis using digitial motion capture and kinesiological electromyography to evaluate gait deficits. She is a prior member of the team at the motion analysis laboratories at Shriners Hospital for Children in Sacramento and Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital/Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, CA.
She received a BS in Physiology from the University of California at Davis, MS in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Temple University. She is a current member of the American Physical Therapy Association, and an active member of the California Physical Therapy Association. Leslie also is an accomplished author in the area of contemporary stress management techniques; has training in NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP) and Motivational Interviewing; and a 3rd degree black belt in Shaolin Kenpo Karate.
